Our waters are unique. In Commencement Bay, you can find port operations, deep open water, and many of the Pacific Northwest’s iconic animals. Such a complex and diverse area requires equally diverse strategies to protect our waters and community. As the only environmental organization with a patrol vessel in the South Sound, Citizens for a Healthy Bay has the unique ability to safeguard local waters and quickly tackle pollution that would have otherwise gone unnoticed or unchecked. We patrol our waters multiple times a week to identify, prevent, and report pollution.
We need your help!
Citizens for a Healthy Bay is launching a fundraising campaign towards a new engine for our Bay Patrol boat! Our goal is $20,000, and your donation will help us replace our boat engine and get us back out on the water to stop water pollution before it contaminates our water in the South Puget Sound.
Your support will ensure our Bay Patrol boat gets back on the water soon, ensuring our local waters are protected and remain a beautiful place our community can enjoy for generations to come. Thank you in advance for your support in making our goal of a cleaner, healthier community a tangible reality!
Citizens for a Health Bay’s Bay Patrol Program contracts with the City of Tacoma and the Port of Tacoma, who help us provide services to the local community to help keep our waters clean.
