Update regarding the Cheers to a Healthy Bay Dinner & Auction and the 2019 novel coronavirus (COVID-19)
Citizens for a Healthy Bay has been closely monitoring the quickly evolving situation regarding the 2019 novel coronavirus (COVID-19). In recent days, it has become clear that rescheduling our Cheers to a Healthy Bay Dinner & Auction on March 27 is the right thing to do in order to protect the health and safety of the community, including attendees, employees, sponsors, and other partners. Health and safety are more important than an event, and we did not feel we should host our fundraiser knowing that some in our community – our elders, pregnant individuals, those with underlying health conditions – would be unable to attend. It’s not community if any are excluded.
We will host a rescheduled fundraiser on Friday, May 22. While the date of the event has changed, the time and location will remain the same.
For all registered attendees who have already purchased tickets, your registration will automatically be rolled over and applied to the rescheduled event. If you are unable to attend our rescheduled event and would like a refund of your ticket(s), please contact Alex Teppert at firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject line “2020 auction refund” and the name under which you purchased your tickets in the email body. We are happy to provide individuals with a refund, no questions asked.
In the meantime, here are a few ways you can still continue to prepare for the event:
- Share this message with your friends, guests, and tablemates, and let us know if there are any guest changes
- If a guest you previously invited was not able to attend, make sure to share the new date
with them – one upside of rescheduling is the opportunity for more people to participate!
We are incredibly thankful for your support and understanding and appreciate your partnership as we move forward. We would also like to thank our vendors and sponsors for accommodating this sudden change.
On behalf of the Citizens for a Healthy Bay Board of Directors, myself, and CHB staff members, we want to thank all of you for continuing to support CHB. Your support is what allows us to engage in the important work we do, and we wish for you all to stay healthy and safe.
