Youth Nature Exploration

June 14 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm
Free

Join Communities for a Healthy Bay (CHB) for a fun and immersive day of outdoor learning in Point Defiance Park! On June 14th from 10am–2pm, youth ages 12–18 are invited to take part in a free environmental education program in collaboration with local expert naturalist Junie B. Fungal.

Participants will enjoy a guided walk through the park’s forested trails, discovering the incredible diversity of wild mushrooms and native plants that thrive in the Pacific Northwest. Along the way, we’ll pause to observe, ask questions, and learn how these organisms play a vital role in our local ecosystems. The program will also include a provided lunch break and an engaging, interactive presentation from Junie B. Fungal, who will share insights into the fascinating and often surprising world of fungi.

Whether you’re curious about nature, love being outside, or just want to try something new, this is a unique opportunity to connect with the natural world and learn from an expert in a beautiful setting. Space is limited—don’t miss out on this exciting day of exploration!

Space is limited to 12 participants—register below to save your spot!
