EnviroNews Listserv 2017-05-01T16:18:35+00:00

About the Listserv

The EnviroNews listserv provides a means for environmental news to flow between city government, Tacoma citizens, community activists and environmental organizations. The listserv focuses on environmental topics such as grant opportunities, workshops, restoration activities, volunteer programs, training, announcements, and news or events. Originally hosted by the City of Tacoma, the management of the listserv was transferred to Citizens for a Healthy Bay to keep things in the hands of a community group.

Subject Lines

Use descriptive subject lines that will allow readers to scan for messages they are interested in.

Attachments

Please be careful about sending attachments to the list. They may contain viruses, slow down message distribution, and some readers may be unable to open them. Include all content in the body of your email.

Reply Function

Be careful not to respond to the entire list if you are answering a person’s specific email or question. Respond to the person directly by sending them a new email. The list settings send replies to the entire list regardless of whether you hit Reply or Reply All.

To subscribe or unsubscribe to the listserv, simply send an email to environews-request@healthybaylist.org with subscribe or unsubscribe in the subject line. Do not include any other text or an automatic signature in the subject line or body of the message. You should receive a confirmation email within a few minutes. If you do not receive a confirmation, you may need to check your junk mail.

Guidelines

Receiving and posting messages on Tacoma EnviroNews is voluntary. Citizens for a Healthy Bay maintains the list but does not pre-screen messages, and the views expressed do not necessarily reflect the sentiments of the CHB. Although we sometimes post messages, the majority of messages are not from the CHB.

Subscribers are able to post messages to the list without seeking approval from the list manager, subject to the listserv rules below. CHB reserves the right to monitor messages to help avoid messages that violate listserv rules.

The City of Tacoma created this listserv as a two-way communication vehicle, and CHB will continue to manage it as such. CHB will not rent, sell, or share the email addresses from the EnviroNews list.
